Santorini in the Sun

Santorini by the Traveling Cheetahunnamed-79

Santorini was like a dream – a Grecian fairytale, with plenty of sunshine and crystal clear water!

And of course, to even further the fairytale vibes – the wardrobe must match! I love wearing all-white to compliment the landscape. This coverup by  {enter brand name} is perfect for wearing while boating. Match with a bohemian turban and sunnies for ultra chic beach style.

The seaside town juts out into rocky shores – a surely popular spot for tourists and natives.

If you’re traveling to Santorini, you MUST stay at the Andronis Luxury Suites. The architecture is unique to say the least – carefully carved into the mountainside, each room is built into an almost “cave-like” structure but kept airy and light with the Mediterranean-style decorations.

The hotel breakfast was nothing short of incredible – the morning glow of the sun and fresh buffet started the day right.

The famous frappés (complete with an oh-so-fitting Greek eye manicure) taste extra good when paired with a warm breeze and great view. Stronger than American coffee, they’re the perfect afternoon pick-me-up drink!

There’s definitely a lot of site seeing to do in Santorini. Climb the cliffs, adventure in the rocky villages – even meet some furry friends!

I got my relaxation on by the gorgeous pool – look at that view!

A fun thing to try are the fish spas – a popular treatment in Greece, it’s like a spa for your feet!! A little strange at first, but definitely unique.

I’d definitely recommend sailing the Grecian seas by chartering a catamaran for a day and cruising the blue waters. Our crew was great, providing food and bringing us to see the hot springs and red sand beaches. Santorini is known for their red and black sand beaches, and many travel to these sulphur-filled hot springs- they’re natural spas!

You’ll come across many quaint seaside villages – stop and explore!

I had a lot of fun snorkeling off the catamarans – the Mediterranean water is the most amazing aqua blue color!

Holy octopus!!! The Greek Isles are known for their seafood – on our trip, freshly-caught octopi were left to dry in the sun.

  1. Metaxy Mas: yummy traditional food such as the Cretan salad, complete with cucumbers, olives, tomatoes and of course, cheese! The cuisine is based on local Santorinian island fare and always made fresh.
  2. Ambrosia Restaurant specializes in upscale Greek cuisine – try the amazing lamb with nutmeg mashed potatoes! The location is to die for, a gorgeous seaside setting that is the perfect place for a romantic dinner.

A mix of appetizers from Metaxy Mas offers something for everyone!

Dinner with a view – the chic setting of Ambrosia Restaurant.

Pretty sunsets did not disappoint – the golden glows shadowed the shores with a calming hue.

Until next time, Santorini!
