London Calling

You know you’re in London when you see those iconic red telephone booths – which, I must say, make for perfect photo-op backdrops. A city of history, architecture and style, England’s capitol city is surely one of my favorite travel destinations!

ACCOMODATIONS

For a true city-chic London experience, I’d recommend the Marriot Edition hotel. It’s everything you’d expect from a hip boutique hotel – the mood is modern yet classic, a great mix of England’s history and contemporary styling. Just a 5 minute walk to Soho, the location was great.

The hotel staff was so sweet – gifting me macarons and cocktails upon my arrival, with an anniversary note included. Definitely started the trip off right!

This unique mix of decor really stood out to me – loved the vintage chandeliers as well. There was so much attention to detail, and perfectly mixed texture and pattern.

Known for its rainy days, London did not disappoint. The city has high energy, even if the skies are grey.

Hi there, Big Ben! A tourist favorite and landmark – amazing details on the architecture here.

SHOPPING

When in London, shop ’till you drop! From the famous Harrods store to flower markets and more, there’s so much variety. A couple of sure stops are Bond Street, Oxford Street and Regent Street.

Bond Street is located in West London, and is the home of the famous Sotheby’s Auction House. Other high-end fashion retailers like Burberry, Jimmy Choo, Chanel and Cartier reside here as well.

Oxford Street, also in West London, is a tourist favorite. There are over 300 stores here, from high end to classically English Topshop and other commercial retailers. The street also has tons of restaurants and spots to grab snacks – fish and chips, perhaps?!

Lastly, Regent Street is yet another place to fill your shopping needs. A more commercial spot with a lot of American brands, this West London hotspot doesn’t disappoint.

If you’re looking for unique souvenirs, Fortrum and Mason has some great quintessential “London” gifts. From packaged tea, coffee and sweets to candies and more, it’s a sure stop for anyone looking for cute take-homes!
