Bonjour, St Barts

Paradise: found! This French-speaking Carribbean island, known for its white sand beaches, chic hotels, and designer shops, gives off a true European vibe! I spent 5 days in beautiful St.Barthélemy, and definitely could have stayed much more. I’m still dreaming of my return to this amazing getaway!

I had such an amazing time – my most favorite thing about the island is all it had to offer. From endless shopping, great food and picturesque beaches to beautiful scenery and more, I highly recommend to everyone to visit at least once. However, the only negative is that it can be a little difficult to get to, depending on where you will be coming from. The main connection islands are Puerto Rico and St. Martin.

ACCOMODATIONS

We chose to stay at the gorgeous Eden Rock Hotel, which I highly recommend (above picture). The property is set on St. Jean Bay which boasts beautiful, crystal clear waters and great views. The service and food at Eden Rock were 5 stars.

DINING

As for wining and dining, my favorite restaurants to visit are:

  1. Bonito // Amazing food and views my top pick for dinner!
  2.  On the Rocks at Eden Rock Hotel //  A great romantic dinner spot by chef Jean George Vongerichten.
  3. Black Ginger //  Great casual dinner spot for Thai food. Set in the beautiful outdoors with amazing art.
  4. DO Brazil //  Fun daytime lunch spot on the beach.
  5. La Plage at the Tom Beach Hotel and Nikki Beach // Another fun daytime lunch spot on the beach. It was very lively and had great music!

During our time on the island one of the most common things to do in St. Barts is to rent a car and explore the island. The destination is known for its beaches, 14 to be exact. Each beach is so unique and different, in their own way, which adds to the character of Saint Barthélemy. A couple beaches we checked out and enjoyed were located at Hotel Le Guanahani and Hotel Taiwana on Flamands Beach.

We must not forget about all the great shopping St Barths has to offer! With several boutiques and also high end fashion and jewelry stores, there’s something for everyone. You can find truly unique pieces on the island!

If you looking for a fun night out spot with delish dinner, be sure to check out Bagatelle. As the night goes on, this hip spot turns into a club – perfect for partying the night away with friends and other tourists! The seaside location is also key, with amazing night views of the harbor.

Overall, the island is truly a hidden paradise.  I was able to wake up to the most amazing golden sunrises, and hear the calming sound of waves crashing upon the shore. Walking barefoot up and down the white sandy beaches and looking out into the crystal clear water is something I will never forget!

Until next time, St Barts!
